What We Believe

Freedom City Church exists to see people of all cultures changed forever by the gospel of Jesus Christ, united by the love of the Father, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to find their place in the family of God and their purpose in the world.

Our Core Values:

Love. God is Love. And we believe that God is not mad at us; He is mad about us; He is madly in love with people and we want the world to know (John 16:27, Jer 31:3, Deut 7:6)

God’s Word. We live by faith and the complete integrity of God’s Word. (2 Cor 5:6, Hebrews 11:6; 6:19)

Local Church. The Church is the family of God and Christ’s body in the earth, we honour it. (Matthew 16:18, 1 Timothy 3:7)

Community. The believers were continually devoted to the Word, prayer, fellowship and the breaking of bread with one another. That’s community & family. (Acts 2:42-47)

Generosity. Our life is to give, not to take. We are blessed in life to be a blessing. (2 Cor. 8:3-5, 2 Cor. 9:5-11)

Covenant Relationships. We are committed to loving one another as Christ loved us. (1 Sam 18:1-5, John 13:34-35)

Servant-hood. We are created to serve and minister to others resulting in lives that are changed forever. (Matt. 20:28)

Character. Our character will determine our destiny. (2 Peter 1:1, Romans 1:1)

Humility. Having a humble heart and teachable spirit will exalt us and enable us to teach others. (Prov. 4:1-2, 5-9 & 9:9)

Selflessness. We honour one another by putting one another first. The way we treat others is the truest barometer of our relationship with God. (1 John 4:20)

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God, revealed as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7-8)

We believe in the absolute inspiration and authority of the Holy Scripture, given by the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 3:15-16)

We believe man was made in the image of God and is the crown of His creation. Man is, prior to salvation, by reason of Adam’s sin, spiritually dead and alienated from his Creator. (Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:18-19)

We believe that salvation and justification is by grace through faith in our Lord’s blood sacrifice on the Cross at Calvary. (Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8)

We believe God calls every Christian to be a member of a local church. Psalms 92:13 says, those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish. And Jesus said, in Matthew 16:18, the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. Being a part of the physical expression of God’s Church is vital for a victorious walk with God.

We believe that water baptism is an outward sign of an inward change and identifies each believer with Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. (Romans 6:3-6)

We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers, empowering them for evangelism and equipping them for personal edification; and the edifying of the church. (Acts 1:5-8; 1 Corinthians 12, 14)

We believe in the priesthood of the believer; that all Christians have equal status and direct access to God and the throne of His grace. (1 Peter 2:5, Hebrews 4:16)

We believe God is on your side. We believe you can make it! (Romans 8:31)

We believe God is not Mad at you but He is Mad about you! (John 3:16-17)
